About Sigma Chi -Â Lambda Beta
Sigma Chi was founded June 28, 1855 in Miami University, Ohio. Seven young men took it upon themselves to start something that turned out to be much greater than themselves. Lambda Beta was founded at the University of West Florida in 2008. Our founders are still active on campus today. Today we have over 220 brothers in our chapter. We hold each other to a higher standard of Friendship, Justice, and Learning.

"One and the main, aim and object of Sigma Chi has been, and is, to develop and train broad-minded men who can recognize the wholeness of things and who are not bound down to a contradicted, eight by ten notion of exclusiveness. There is an absolute necessity for such men."
Founder Benjamin Piatt Runkle

Sigma Chi Aims
Being a Sigma Chi is more than a four year commitment, it is a life long journey you take. Three great aims of being apart of Sigma Chi is that of Friendship, Justice and Learning. You gain these through many parts of your college career but as a Sigma Chi, you take these with you for life. A couple things we take serious is the brotherhood of our chapter and our ideals.

Brotherhood
Upon gaining admission into Sigma Chi, you will be apart of 400,000+ members who have the same ideals and aims as you do.

High Ideals
Every Sigma Chi is measured on the same standard, called the Jordan Standard, written by one of our founders. Issac M. Jordan wrote this literature in order to be able to hold himself and his brothers accountable to the ideals in this.
